Jyväskylä-based 3D Formtech is strengthening its position as Finland’s leading 3D printing provider. The latest equipment investment, Nikon SLM500, enables efficient mass production of aluminum parts and the printing of parts up to 500 mm in size.

For years, 3D Formtech has been at the forefront of the 3D printing industry in Finland. An investment made two years ago in Finland’s largest plastic 3D printer already significantly increased capacity, and now the company has taken a similarly bold leap forward in metal 3D printing.

Last week, 3D Formtech finalized a deal for the Nikon SLM500 printer, which is designed for high-performance metal printing. The build chamber measures 500 x 280 x 365 mm, enabling the printing of single-piece parts up to 500 mm wide.

The SLM500 is specifically tailored to meet the demands of mass production. It is the first device in Finland to operate with four lasers, a feature that makes it extremely efficient. Advanced laser technology and thermal management systems also ensure exceptional precision and surface quality that meet even the strictest quality standards.

Top-level equipment combined with strong expertise

The new machine will be used at 3D Fomtech for 3D printing with aluminum. As a lightweight and durable 3D printing material, the demand for aluminum is constantly growing.
